Practice Overview

Central Arizona Heart Specialists (CAZHS) was established in 1977 in Chandler, Arizona, as the first Cardiology practice in the Chandler area. CAZHS obtained accreditation to open the first Intensive Care Unit at the then Chandler Community Hospital (now Chandler Regional Medical Center). The physicians of Central Arizona Heart Specialists have been influential in the development and growth of both general cardiology and interventional cardiology programs in the Chandler area since opening its doors. CAZHS physicians organized the development of the Cardiovascular Department at Chandler and Mercy Gilbert hospitals and provided leadership to start the Interventional Cardiology program and Open Heart Surgery programs that now exist at those facilities. In 2009, CAZHS physicians started the first Interventional Cardiology program at CASA Grande Regional Hospital.
