Kush Agrawal, MD
Dr. Agrawal joined Sun State Cardiology in December 2018. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, Echocardiography, Vascular Ultrasound, Vascular Medicine, and Endovascular Intervention.
He obtained his undergraduate degree with honors in Biochemistry and Neuroscience at Duke University and medical degree at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine (with postgraduate basic science research in VEGF and vascular regeneration in the Guyton Physiology Lab). He completed his internal medicine residency at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology training at Boston University Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Agrawal completed the one-year prestigious VIVA (Vascular Interventional Advances) Structural and Endovascular fellowship in both Mountain View, California and Kingsport, Tennessee prior to joining Sun State Cardiology.
Dr. Agrawal’s clinical expertise and interests include performing complex, high-risk coronary, peripheral (including limb salvage, endovascular AAA repair, carotid stenting) and structural heart interventions (including ASD/PFO closure, transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVR) and the Mitraclip procedure). He has numerous high-impact journal as well as textbook chapter publications, but has the deepest respect for original investigation and discovery. He has been a sub-investigator in the CREST-2 Carotid Stent and the ABSORB IV Bioabsorbable Stent Trials.
Hospital privileges include Banner Casa Grande Regional Hospital, Chandler Regional Medical Center, Banner Desert Medical Center, and Mercy Gilbert Hospitals and Arizona general Hospital, East Mesa.
Dr. Agrawal grew up surrounded by physicians in his family, and has the utmost respect for the patient-physician bond. Among his core ambitions is to be able to provide truly comprehensive and compassionate care to his patients. He is married and has three children, and when free, enjoys going to the movies, travelling, and spending quality time with family.
